It’s a weird world sometimes the sneaker game. Some silhouettes come and go, never to be seen again. Some are an instant hit and some, like the New Balance 2002R for example are 10 times bigger after a revival release. Timing and trends obviously play a crucial role in an increasingly competitive trainer world, but sometimes things just simply don’t click the first time around. First introduced in the 2010 as a follow up to the 2001, the 2002 trainer came with a hefty ‘Made in USA’ price tag and a midsole packed with N-ERGY sole technology. Although the 2002 had some success with the die hard New Balance fans, its premium price point was lost on the average “sneaker head”. However as you already probably know, trends quickly come and go and this latest New Balance 2002R Rust Oxide trainer is a testament to that.

Utilising the midsole of the 860v2 the 2002R marked the next chapter of the late noughties shoe. Giving a nod to the orange hues associated with Autumn, or Fall as they say over on the other side of the pond, the 2002R is treated to a seasonal update. Featuring mesh underlays with premium suede overlays in rust orange & N-ERGY sole technology to the off-white midsole. Classic N logo are stamped across the sidewalls with a split midsole for that classic 2002 vibe.
