Previously known as Carrier Goods, Purple Mountain Observatory are a London based brand that draws inspiration from their time spent in the Purple Mountains of China.
When you’ve been about the block a bit & I’m talking about the performance apparel world here, you’ll witness so many different trends that come and go. COVID changed so much in the clothing game. First it was sweats then this whole Gorpcore thing went insane. I’d been grafting with GORE-TEX & capturing hoods on hillsides since day 1 so it wasn’t really anything new for me. I’m not trying to claim we invented the whole Gorpcore aesthetic here in the North West, but to some extent we kinda did. To watch something grow and become so popular isn’t always a bad thing either. An appreciation for technically clad clothing is great, in my opinion, and brands like Purple Mountain Observatory are definitely one of the next generation of outdoors inspired brands to watch out for.
