The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 trainer now lands in a brand new ‘Wheat Grass’ colourway to kick things off for 2023.

It seems a bit crazy when we start to talk about trainers that were released back in 2011 as OG. Even though it might only feel like yesterday when everyone was wearing Crooks & Castles and cannabis leaf socks, the 2011 trainer landscape looked a hell of a lot different to what it does in 2023. Raffles & resale were a rarity & the sheer volume of retail releases were probably about half of what they are today. It was also the same year the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 first came on the scene, which as you probably already know if you’re reading this has been causing quite a storm on the modern day sneaker scene. Following on from the recently released Anthracite/Black & Cobblestone/Light Bone colourways from 2022, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 now lands in a brand new ‘Wheat Grass’ colourway to kick things off for 2023.

Originally released as a running trainer back in 2011, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 featured integrated Nike+ technology which could be linked up to your iPod. Boasting the latest Zoom Air sole cushioning the Zoom Vomero 5 was a popular shoe mainly with runners. It wasn’t until November 2018 when the Zoom Vomero 5 resurfaced on the sneaker scene courtesy of the British designer, Samuel Ross, with a A-COLD-WALL* collaboration that saw numerous colourway releases as well as an oversized heel counter.

The celebrated 2010’s runner now returns in an updated ‘Wheat Grass’ colourway for January 2023. Highlights of the highly anticipated drop includes a combination of mesh and leather on the uppers, with subtle 3M accents adding a reflective finish around the toe and heel. A Zoom Air midsole ensures all day comfort with signature sole swoosh branding to the sidewalls.
