Teaming up with the New York Knicks legend, Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, the Clyde was all about support & traction for the high speed courts of the NBA. When the contract between PUMA & Frazier came to an end PUMA renamed the shoe the Suede. An OG B-Boy trainer from the 1970s, the Clyde’s connection to street culture is like nothing else. For the die hard trainer fans there will always be something special about ‘Made in Japan’ releases. Just like adidas had exclusive Japanese releases back in the 1970s & 1980s so did PUMA, with the latest partnership with Noah giving a nod to Japan’s heritage of sportswear manufacturing & craftsmanship of selvedge denim & tanned leather.
The exclusive Cylde release features specialized suede leather from an expert tannery in Japan with an age-old dyeing process to the uppers for some truly unique hues. Finished off with the iconic ‘Clyde’ branding in gold foiling to the sidewalls and Noah logo to the tongue tab, this very special ‘Made in Japan’ release puts an artisanal spin on the 70s court classic.
