The Noah x PUMA Clyde Trainer is ‘Made in Japan’

Featuring Specialized Suede Leather Uppers

The Noah x PUMA Clyde trainer celebrates the artisanal manufacturing of Japan with a very special ‘Made in Japan’ release for March 2023.

If there’s one classic trainer that comes to mind when you think of New York’s streetwear scene it’s got to be the Suede, or the PUMA Clyde as it was originally known. An original silhouette from Rudolph Dassler, the Clyde marked the next generation of sportswear endorsements for the Bavarian born brand. Teaming up with the New York Knicks legend, Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, the Clyde was all about support & traction for the high speed courts of the NBA. When the contract between PUMA & Frazier came to an end PUMA renamed the shoe the Suede. An OG B-Boy trainer from the 1970s, the Clyde’s connection to street culture is like nothing else. Connecting the dots between New York’s modern day street culture & Japan’s manufacturing heritage, March 2023 sees the New York streetwear brand Noah team up with PUMA for a very special ‘Made in Japan’ trainer release. The Noah x PUMA Clyde trainer features a specialized suede leather, celebrating the artisanal manufacturing of Japan.

For the die hard trainer fans there will always be something special about ‘Made in Japan’ releases. Just like adidas had exclusive Japanese releases back in the 1970s & 1980s so did PUMA, with the latest partnership with Noah giving a nod to Japan’s heritage of sportswear manufacturing & craftsmanship of selvedge denim & tanned leather.

The exclusive Cylde release features specialized suede leather from an expert tannery in Japan with an age-old dyeing process to the uppers for some truly unique hues. Finished off with the iconic ‘Clyde’ branding in gold foiling to the sidewalls and Noah logo to the tongue tab, this very special ‘Made in Japan’ release puts an artisanal spin on the 70s court classic. The Noah x PUMA Clyde ‘Made in Japan’ trainer launches exclusively from on Thursday 16th March 2023.
