Palace & Gucci join forces for October 2022 for a collection of GG goodies across a range of apparel, accessories & even a Moto Guzzi motorcycle.
You probably remember back in 2017 when Supreme & Louis Vuitton completely turned the fashion world upside down. The big fashion magazines went mad for this new aesthetic with “luxury streetwear” becoming the talking point on every runway, restaurant & PR office. However, & it’s a big however, designer gear on the streets was actually nothing new. Here in the UK we’ve been wearing designer stuff with our own streetwear aesthetic for years. Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Stone Island, Moschino & Gucci are all technically luxury brands we’ve been mixing up with sportswear across the continent since the 1990s. Maybe it was just a Supreme thing. Maybe it was just a hype thing. Maybe it actually worked. The fact is luxury streetwear changed the traditional fashion world paving the way for London skateboard brands like Palace to now collaborate with the luxury fashion house Gucci. The Palace x Gucci collaboration comes at us in full force with a collection of classic Gucci GG styles with Palace’s own playful take on the luxury world. It’s pretty clear. Streetwear isn’t dead, and neither is it’s luxury counterpart.
Guccier than Gucci.
Now teaming up with the luxury fashion house, Palace Skateboards take their collaboration to the top end with this latest release. Highlights of the collection include motorcycle leathers in typical Palace style with classic Italian styling. If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie, or just like motorcycles, there’s also a collaboration motorcycle courtesy of Moto Guzzi motorcycles. Also on the apparel side of things there’s a shearling jacket, a Wool jacquard knitted bomber, all over GG print baggy jeans, hoodies with Triferg GG branding, technical football shirts which take you back to the Goal Lazio days of the mid 90s. There’s also knitted tanks tops with the classic Gucci colours, track pants & jersey cotton t-shirts.
On the accessories side of things there’s a collection of cross body bags and wallets, all sporting the world renowned GG monogram print. Other highlights include a safe box that wouldn’t look out of place in Tony Montana’s office alongside canvas loafers, GG monogram bucket hats, baseball caps, beanies, silk pillows & even umbrellas. The Palace x Gucci collection will be launching exclusively from Gucci Vault at 11am on Friday 21st October 2022.
