Palace skateboards teams up with New Balance on their 90s trail trainer, the 580, with some colourful hues & hairy suede uppers for September 2022.
Following on from their recent collaboration with Engineered Garments, Palace Skateboards now turns its attention to the Boston born footwear giant, New Balance, for a colourful spin on the 580 silhouette. Originally dubbed the ‘Made in USA’ M585, the 580 was first released in 1996 as a Japanese exclusive. With a slightly beefier profile, the M585 was more geared up for trail running as oppose to the smooth tarmac of previous NB silhouettes. Remaining as a Japanese exclusive until 2007, New Balance worked with a range of Japanese streetwear brands & sneaker stores such as Undefeated & Mita, giving the 580 a whole new “sought after” direction. Revived in 2013 for the UK & European market, the 580 was re-worked with REVLite sole technology putting a modern spin on the 90s classic. The Palace x New Balance 580 trainer marks the next chapter for the 580 with some 90s inspired hues across the original trail trainer.

Featuring mesh & hairy suede uppers in bold hues such as ‘Lapis Blue’ & ‘Deep Shaded Spruce’, the collaboration colourways will certainly get you noticed. Other highlights include ‘ROLLBAR’ sole technology to the speckled midsole, collaboration branding to the tongue, stash pockets to the tongues in typical Palace fashion as well as a Palace branded dubrae. Finished off with the iconic N branding to the sidewalls, the collaboration 580 is sure to go down a storm with the original Palace fans of the world.
