The good news for the life long Chem Bros fans out there is that the electronic duo now return for 2023 with their latest track ‘No Reason’.
If you were knocking about in 1997 and you never heard ‘Block Rockin’ Beats’ blasting out of a built in subwoofer of a Ford Fiesta Xr2 then you probably need to go back in time to experience it. I was around 11 at the time and although I was nowhere near the age to be going to dodgy nightclubs and double dropping doves (that would come some years later) I remember it like it was yesterday. Even the motor sport inspired exhaust was drowned out with the vibrations of the 12″ sub. That was my first experience of the Manchester born electronic duo, The Chemical Brothers. I was hooked in and the bait was big beat & basslines. To me in my infancy, music had never sounded so good. As far as electronic music pioneers go they don’t really get much bigger than The Chemical Brothers. From supporting Oasis at Knebworth in 96 to playing at the notorious Woodstock in 99, The Chemical Brothers have worked with a range of music royalty over the last 30 years such as Bernard Sumner, Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft, The Charlatans & Fatboy Slim to name a few.
The good news for the life long Chem Bros fans out there is that the electronic duo now return for 2023 with their latest track ‘No Reason’. After a two year hiatus since their last track ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ that was released in 2021, the new tune comes with the same signature visuals courtesy of Smith & Lyall and the Gecko Theatre. Featuring heavy percussion inspired by marching bands and a bassline that wouldn’t sound out of place in a late 90s French House night club, it’s that classic Chemical Brothers sound we’ve loved from the very beginning. The Chemical Brothers are also rumoured to release their 10th studio album for 2023 so be sure to keep posted at mint. for further updates.
